Homework
All pupils are expected to supplement their studies by doing homework. The amount given will vary considerably, particularly in Years 10 and 11 with G.C.S.E. coursework and the need to work to deadlines.
As a rough guide, in Years 7-9 homework should take approximately 30 minutes per subject extending to 1 hour per subject in Years 10 and 11, (a total of ten hours per week for Years 10 and 11).
More details may be found in the 'Parents Guide to Homework' leaflet.
If your child struggles with, or neglects homework on a regular basis, please contact the Form Tutor. Pupils are issued with a homework timetable in the first week of term. Please contact the school if you have not seen one.
All pupils are issued with a homework diary to enable them to record each piece of homework set. Please check this diary regularly and ensure that homework is done at a sensible time in a quiet atmosphere.
The homework diary has a lot of additional information in the front, including school uniform lists, recommended books and the school marking policy. It is definitely worth a look!
